Episode 37: 'ADHD Diagnoses in Midlife - Joining The Dots and Finally Getting Answers' with Katie Taylor

Has it taken you until midlife to finally understand who you are and what your brain is about? The increased awareness of ADHD in women, especially later in life, has finally given women the answers to life-long questions and allowed for the self-acceptance and compassion they've searched for all their lives.

This week’s bonus episode is with Katie Taylor, founder and CEO of The Latte Lounge, an online platform helping women in midlife thrive at home and in the workplace.

Katie created The Latte Lounge in 2016 after suffering for four years from misdiagnosed symptoms of perimenopause. Her community now supports more than 50,000 women with evidence-based information about women’s health, backed by a medical advisory team. It is a confidential space for midlife women to connect online and gain access and signposting to various health and wellbeing experts.

During this episode, Kate and Katie talk about:

  • Katie's perimenopause story and diagnosis

  • Empowering women with more menopause awareness

  • ADHD and menopause

  • How ADHD can show up during menopause - and how to decipher between the two

  • Binge eating, imposter syndrome, burnout and trauma alongside ADHD

  • How ADHD traits/symptoms showed up during Katie's life

  • Starting to recognise the signs of ADHD in midlife

  • Katie's Midlife Festival
