My visit to Groobarb's Wild Farm

Just come back from such a brilliant afternoon put on my local veg box supplier Groobarb’s Wild Farm. They put on a free open event for all their customers to show off their amazing farm land and new barns, which they’re hoping to turn into a gorgeous supper club kitchen. Such a brilliant idea and amazing to be able to taste all that fresh produce cooked on site!

We had a tractor tour around the acres of land growing pesticide-free seasonal fruit and veg. It was so great to show my 4 and 8 year old daughters exactly where all the fruit and veg, that I’m constantly trying to get them to eat, actually grows. There were so many kids and families there supporting Rebecca and David, who set up Groobarbs on their own from their garage about 7 years ago.

What an honour it was to be able to see where and how they grow all their produce, so close to where we live. I really believe by showing kids the excitement of pulling potatoes, carrots and parsnips straight out of the ground or picking apples and pears right off the tree and eating it, how much more exciting eating fresh food can be. 🍐🍎🍏🥕🌽🥬

I think schools would really benefit from touring the farm just as we did and getting kids passionate about fruit and veg again. We came home with a freshly picked Romesco cauliflower and the kids are genuinely excited to eat it! Miracles do happen 🙌🙌
